This project was born as part of a new urban development, which is located in a rural area within the geographical perimeter of the city of Santa Rosa el Cabal, in Colombia.
For the project, the client requested the elaboration of a design for a house that could permanently house a couple, as well as an additional room for guests. The client also establishes that the use of all the exterior spaces of the property were a priority, and that should be achieved through the implantation of an agricultural garden and the revegetation of the hillside of the property with native trees.
For that reason, the design of a single-story house is proposed, which was located on the ground in the area with the highest height and lowest slope. It was also decided that the social areas of the project were located in the center of the house, in such a way that all its spatiality was felt both materially and conceptually as a transit space between both sides of the house. The transparency granted to this area aimed to generate the feeling of a single continuous space between the public outside area (access area), the inside (the interior social space) and the private outside area (the garden on the hillside). In this way, the openings inside the house could frame the views with the greatest visual and landscape potential of the surrounding rural territory.
